Glenlake is seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Coach for the 2026/2027 season to coach our U13AA team. Head Coaches will be responsible for fostering skill development, teamwork and a love for the game of hockey. The ideal candidate will have previous experience coaching at an elite level and help ensure a positive and competitive environment.

Certifications:

• Coach Level 1 and Coach Level 2 required. Coach Development 1 considered an asset (required to complete Dev 1 certification if not already held)
• Valid Respect In Sport - Activity Leader or completion of The Shift Forward: Evolving Hockey Culture Coach
• Completion of Checking Skills course considered an asset (required to complete Checking Skills certification if not already held)
• Vulnerable Persons Sector Check is required

Responsibilities:

-             Demonstrate the ability to run an elite program within the Glenlake Minor Hockey Club

-            Ability to run and maintain a development program throughout the season

-            Well organized practice planning and execution

-            Mentor and support Assistant Coaches in their development (we have newly 'retired' hockey players with elite experience who want to be part of the coaching staff)

-            Attend the vast majority of scheduled ice times and events

-            Liaise with team manager to address any parent concerns

-             Work with Glenlake Player Development as required

-            Provide feedback during the season to players

Experience:

• Previous experience coaching youth hockey with demonstrated success in player development
• Strong communication skills with both players and parents
• Demonstrated commitment to safe, fair and fun team environment
• Previous experience coaching AA/AAA hockey considered an asset
