Hello Glenlake Minor Hockey Club members,

Many of you will have seen the boundary announcement from Hockey Calgary last evening outlining boundary modifications. For those who have not, please read their news release and associated attachments on this page of Hockey Calgary’s website:

In the end, the Hockey Calgary Board of Directors approved an 11 association model (to be phased in over two years) that closely aligns with our contention that a larger association model is best for community hockey in the City of Calgary.  While we were often not aligned with the process that Hockey Calgary undertook, we respect the fact that the Board has listened to the majority of its members in arriving at this decision.  There is, however, one material impact to our Glenlake family in that the communities of Chinook Park, Kingsland, Kelvin Grove and Eagle Ridge are now proposed to move to the Southwest Hockey Association beginning next season.  We are disappointed with this result and are in contact with the CKE Community Association and affected families and will report back on any developments.

We appreciate your engagement throughout this process and we will continue to work hard on your behalf to provide our kids with a great minor hockey experience.

Please contact me if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Chris Brett
